Panic set in thinking the robotic unit was at fault with a big repair bill for me. The van would not go into automatic mode I could select manual mode ajnd drive but no automatic mode. Again, this is my first semi-automatic. Other than this, I haven't had any problems with the transmission and for the most part, it runs pretty smoothly. It happened today while I was in 4th gear and accelerating-I think I was going around 45kmh. A combination of pumping the breaks/coasting to come to a reaaaally slow stop usually keeps the car in automatic. This happens most often when I'm driving in the city and there's a lot of stop-and-go traffic, but it's also happened a few times after slowing down from higher speeds (90kmh for example). Automatic mode most frequently cuts out and switches over to manual while I'm breaking - this also most frequently happens in 2nd or 3rd gear. I literally just have to keep an eye on the dashboard to make sure that the "A" is still lit up. It's also not accompanied by any abnormal noises/movements. The "check gearbox" light only comes on when automatic cuts out and the light has never stayed on for more than about 5 seconds or so. I immediately use the quick shifter to throw it back into automatic and then I can keep driving like that until the next time automatic cuts out. Whenever this happens I get the warning light "Getriebe Prüfen" (Check Gearbox) for about 5 seconds and then the light goes away. Gang ist direkt ohne Verwendung der Vorgelegewelle. I recently bought a 2007 Clio 3 ( 1.2, 16V Quickshift "Dynamique" edition) with just over 120,000km and have been having problems with its automatic mode.
